We are very proud of our efforts and of the results our accountability produces
We are conscious of our Social Responsibility and our role in society, so work closely with Slagelse Municipality and Slagelse Job Centre to take on candidates who often have difficulty entering the labour market, for example due to long-term unemployment, illness, disability or foreign nationals making efforts to integrate into Danish society.
This social behaviour is a core value of Kobæk Strand Conference Centre, and we believe it is rewarding both for the individual, but also for us as a company. We actively contribute to educating qualified personnel for the industry. Furthermore, our conduct reflects the way we ourselves want to be treated if the situation ever arose. Our active CSR policy has also resulted in permanent employment for some candidates after their job testing period.
MEET OUR WAITER FROM MEXICO – PEDRO
Pedro came through Denmark when he traveled around Europe seven years ago. He has lived in Slagelse for over a year and worked hard to learn Danish and integrate into Danish society. He did so well in language school that, through the Job Centre he got a job with us.
MEET OUR CHEF STUDENT – AHMAD
Ahmad Alhamad came to Denmark when he fled Syria in 2012. Having worked for us for a while, he decided to train as a chef and got an apprenticeship at Kobæk Strand. Ahmad finished his education in 2017.
MEET OUR FLEKSJOB STAFF GITTE, ANETTE AND DORTE
Flex jobs is a Danish labour market policy initiative to help citizens who cannot do their normal work due to illness, but who are not sick enough to be entitled to early retirement.
Gitte works in the restaurant and has been employed in the industry for more than 30 years. Anette has been employed for 45 years and Dorte started with us as a cover and now has a fleksjob.
AS PART OF OUR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
In 2018 we were proud to support Kræftens Bekæmpelse with a business partnership. Our support went to ongoing research, prevention and patient support. This is a contribution from both company and staff as many of us have experienced cancer up close. Our Christmas gift is direct and ongoing support of Kræftens Bekæmpelse!
We are extremely pleased to have received the following from the Julemærkehjemmet, a children’s home in Skælskør. In 2016 we chose to send electronic Christmas cards and donated the postage fee towards ensuring the children at Julemærkehjemmet get a healthier life.
